What is Championship?
Championship is one of three primary play formats available to Warhammer Underworlds players. These formats allow players to interact with the game in unique ways. Each format brings its own strengths and together they serve as pillars for organized play. Championship offers players the highest level of creative expression and playstyle support, as the breadth of cards available allows you to construct a tightly tuned deck that defines and supports a concise goal. As a result, games of Championship bring exciting and varied challenges to the table!
Official Championship Format Document (shares documentation with the Relic format)
Current Card Pool: Essential Cards pack plus the Harrowdeep, Nethermaze, Gnarlwood, and Wyrdhollow seasons
Play Formats: The Pillars of Underworlds
Rivals | No deckbuilding. Shuffle & play!
Nemesis | Deckbuilding from two sources- your warband’s Rivals deck (the cards unique to them) and one universal Rivals deck.
Championship | Deckbuilding from a product pool comprised of the latest four seasons of Underworlds. This format includes a Forsaken and Restricted list.
*Be advised Championship is currently undergoing a bit of rebranding and is now considered a variant of the Relic format (which allows you to build decks from your entire collection).
Event Rulings
The following will be in effect for the event with a cutoff date enforced for new releases:
The latest Designer Commentary and Errata. | Last updated June 28th, 2023
The latest Forsaken and Restricted list as found in the Championship format document. | Last updated: June 28th, 2023

Products released on or before the cutoff date will be valid for use.

New Release Cutoff Date
Any new releases or updates to the documents outlined above after August 5th, 2023 will not be used. This is done to avoid drastic changes in expectations for players. Judges may still consider newly released content in making their rulings for continuity, and maintaining the spirit of the game.
Pairings & Tiebreakers
Your opponent for your first game will be randomly determined. Subsequent rounds will be paired by Win Record, Game Losses, Glory Point Differential, Strength of Schedule, and then Random. The player at the end of three rounds with the highest win record will be our Tournament Champion. In the case of ties, the following tiebreakers will be used in order to determine final event placements: Win Record, Game Losses, Glory Point Differential, Strength of Schedule, and then Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Additional Event Rulings
Updated: 08 May 2023 | These rulings have been made in advance by an event judge.*
Carve a Path | Toxic Terrors #2
Q. If I have met the condition to score this objective but not gain the additional glory, may I choose not to reveal and score it so that I may attempt more Attack actions?
A. Yes. Note you forfeit the current reveal window and will need to wait until the next time the condition is satisfied.
Q. Can this be scored with a total of two Attack actions each made by a different leader? (Examples: Domitan’s Stormcoven & Khagra’s Ravagers)
A. No. The Attack actions must be made by the same fighter. The fighter only needs to be a leader during the second or subsequent Attack action though.
